Researching Ancillary: Class Discussion

Summary of class discussion around the importance and functions of digipaks to the music industry. 

The discussion taught me that digipaks  are a modern approach  to CD packaging. It also creates the inclusion for more information about the artist.

It also allows the artist to be more creative with what they use as the album cover. For example, the late Notorious BIG used a picture of himself as a baby as his album cover, this idea was later used by other rap artists such as Nas (Illmatic) and Lil Wayne (Carter 3). 

The outside of the digipak should feature the artists name; large clear font, same font, tracklist, promotional sticker, production information, distributor, producer, price ect. 

Inside the digipak should feature graphic designs, acknowledgments, visual style, repeat of tracklist ect.
