Research/ Planning: Music video influences

I was just roaming through Youtube last night looking for some new songs i might like and i came across a few videos with a couple edits i believe we could use for our video.

the first video was Drake - Over

We had a lot of ideas of what to put in to our video however with all these different ideas we wasn't really thinking of where the artist would fit in to the video so i found this where we could incorporate the two.

This shot is of the artist Drake sitting on the bed and there is an image projected over him and the background. We could use this in our video where we could have our artist possibly standing in front of a green screen and we could project an image of what we think in beautiful over him. For example we could take a shot on a hill of the sun setting and speed it up so the time is compressed, then project it over him as he sings.

Another idea was from Rihanna - Cheers

This is a video about having fun, relieving from the stressful week at work and Rihanna portrays this as home footage so whats happening in the video doesnt look forced. We could use this for both the upbeat sections of our song where we would be portraying the dance/party side of our song yet also for the homely slowed down parts of our song.

This shot captures the artist with a camera doing some recording of her own. this makes the fun she's having seem more real and also allows her to switch from professional camera use to home recording camera usage in a different time and place yet still fit in with the rest of the video. This would also allow us to have more base tracks as well because we could use more footage not shot with the college camera.
