Research: Videos that do not conform

Since I've done a lot of research into how a music video for an R&B/Hip-Hop song should look like I decided to go on a hunt for music videos that are almost the complete opposite of what you'd expect to see in a music video and here's what I found

Usually in a hip-hop music video you would expect to see a lot of woman reinforcing laura mulveys male gaze but in this there are none. The music video is all in one setting which again we wouldn't expect to see in a hip-hop music video. As well as this I highly doubt there are many hip-hop music videos that involve the main artist eating a cockroach and hanging their selves. 

Anther music video that not only doesn't conform to the traditional stereo-types of a traditional music video but challenges them is Rella by OddFuture. In this music video instead of seeing what is considered as sexy we are presented with a rather large woman. The video continues to challenge hip-hop music videos as one of the rappers starts shooting lasers that turn people into cats. This has most probably never been used in a music video before which makes it so unique. As well as this artists will usually try to make themselves look as good as possible whilst one of these artists has made himself look like a centaur. 

This has all obviously been thought about and is apart of the artists image and is a nice refreshing change from what your used to seeing in music videos.
